What are RSPO Credits?

Producers who are certified sustainable are eligible for RSPO credits for each metric tonne of sustainable oil produced. The producer trades these credits on the RSPO trading platform. MOI purchases and redeems these credits through the RSPO platform for product produced to support sustainable palm oil. This process enables the producer to receive a premium for their sustainable crop, which in turn helps to create a market for sustainable palm oil.

Where can I get RSPO Credits?

MOI International is supporting sustainable palm oil by purchasing RSPO credits for all MOI brand margarines, shortenings and premium frying oil. MOI can also purchase credits on your behalf for your own brand product. MOI have purchased RSPO credits for all MOI branded product we are currently receiving. This stock has the RSPO Credits logo on the carton.

How much will it cost?

MOI has already purchased credits for MOI branded product so there will be no additional cost to you. MOI can purchase credits on your behalf for your own brand product at market rates.

What claims can I make?

You can promote the fact that you support Sustainable Palm Oil through the RSPO Credit program. You can do this with a statement in store you may also display the RSPO Credits logo. For example “Joe’s Fish and Chip use MOI Fryola Premium which supports the production of RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil”. If you are a RSPO Credit member you are required to purchase RSPO Credits for the Palm Oil content of your product. You may then make a claim of support of Sustainable Palm Oil along with a RSPO Credits logo. If you are not a RSPO Credit member no on pack claim can be made. If your customer is a RSPO Credit member they are required to purchase RSPO Credits for the Palm Oil content of their product. They may make a claim in support of Sustainable Palm Oil along with a RSPO Credits logo. If they are not a RSPO Credit member no on pack claim can be made.
